The character’s first official foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool 3 is arriving in theaters on May 3, 2024, and a new sneak peek image has been shared this week.

Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine one more time in Deadpool 3, reprising the role he had allegedly played for the final time in Logan back in 2017.

He’s of course starring alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

Reynolds has taken to social media to share the above first look image this morning, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine side-by-side. It’s a still from the upcoming Deadpool 3, and the most notable thing about the image is that it features Jackman fully suited up in the classic yellow/blue Wolverine costume that fans have been dying to see him step inside of.

Check out the teaser above and expect more on Deadpool 3 soon.

Last we heard, Marvel Studios had hired sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to write Deadpool 3, with Shawn Levy (Free Guy) on board to direct.

The future of the franchise was unclear in the wake of Disney acquiring Fox, where the previous two movies had been made. Deadpool is now *officially* a Marvel Studios property.

Back in 2016, Deadpool scored big at the box office with a $782 million worldwide gross. The sequel in 2018 surpassed even that massive total, pulling in $785 million worldwide.

As for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, he’s been playing the character on screen since X-Men in 2000. He returned to the role in multiple films, including X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), and Logan (2017).
