‘Terrifier 3’ – Opening 10 Minutes Are So Shocking That 9 People Walked Out of the UK Premiere

Ho-ho-holy shit.

Damien Leone‘s Christmas-themed Yuletide of terror Terrifier 3 doesn’t open in theaters until next Friday (Oct. 11) and the hype is already through the roof.

Not only is the slasher sequel Rotten Tomatoes users’ most anticipated movie of October but the early reviews out of festival screenings have the film currently at 93% fresh (as of this writing).

Now, there are reports out of the UK Premiere that a whopping 9 people headed for the lobby before the opening title card could even hit the screen, with one fan allegedly vomiting before the film even crossed the 10-minute mark.

“There were 11 total walkouts, nine during the opening scene, and that there was one fan confirmed to have puked,” the LADbible confirmed this morning.

“Although I was in and out of the screening, I did manage to witness some crazy stuff,” Leone tells Bloody Disgusting early this morning.

“One woman got up and left in the middle of the shower massacre. Another woman left the screening and said she started having a panic attack during a scene involving kids where Art impersonates a mall Santa.”

As it’s been widely reported, Leone decided to make Terrifier 3 with Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse because major studios would never have allowed him to make his vision for the sequel.

“I knew they weren’t going to let me make this movie based on the first five pages. Like, that’s how insane Terrifier 3 is,” he told JoBlo.

Terrifier started as an extremely indie franchise that managed to break pop culture when we released Terrifier 2 in theaters across the country – unrated – back in 2022. The average moviegoer wasn’t prepared for the levels of gore that we horror fans are accustomed to. Several people were confirmed to have either passed out or vomited during their local screening.

Will history repeat itself with Terrifier 3? If the early buzz and reactions out of the UK Premiere are any indication, Art the Clown is going to become a global horror icon by Halloween.

In the film,Lucas and Jenny think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.

Watch the new trailer below, which introduces one wild HOA gathering during an equinox. Things get bloody fast.

William Bagley writes and directs, in addition to producing with Smith, Matt Dodd, Luke Williams, and Tim Reis (Adult Swim Yule Log).

Ahead of the release, Bagley said,My goal with this film was to make a hilarious, fast-paced thrill ride while also telling a great story with heart. Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you.

Hold the Fort premiered at Fantasia last summer before going on to play FrightFest London, Toronto After Dark, and Beyond Fest.

I wrote in my review,It’s an infectiously charming assemblage of jokes and monster vignettes bound together by a barebones plot with not much on its mind beyond delivering an entertaining time.
