Sink Your Fangs Into New ‘Nosferatu’ Sarcophagus Popcorn Bucket Collectible
It’s a massive day for Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu now that tickets are on sale. Not only does that entail special 35mm screenings, but also an ultimate collectible for the popcorn lover- an appropriately gothic Nosferatu sarcophagus.
Regal Cinemas has unveiled a spooky glimpse at the ornate popcorn vessel below.
Bill Skarsgård is playing Nosferatu/Count Orlok in the film, in theaters December 25, 2024.
Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Lily-Rose Depp also star in Robert Eggers’ big-screen resurrection of the Nosferatu legend.
“Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.”
Eggers (The Witch, The Northman) directs, and he wrote the script. Eggers also serves as a producer alongside Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham.
The new popcorn vessel brings us no closer to getting a look at the new Count Orlok, but at least we can see where the monstrous vamp sleeps during the day. Skarsgård previously teased about his character, “He’s gross. But it is very sexualized. It’s playing with a sexual fetish about the power of the monster and what that appeal has to you. Hopefully you’ll get a little bit attracted by it and disgusted by your attraction at the same time.”
While it seems likely that other chains will follow suit with Nosferatu popcorn buckets of their own, nothing has been revealed as of yet. This marks the latest in the popcorn bucket collectible trend, following on the heels of Terrifier 3 and Alien: Romulus.
