After paying homage to ’70s horror with Brute 1976, the body count continues in the ’80s horror throwback Brute 1986 from director Marcel Walz (Blood Feast, Blind).
Bloody Disgusting has your first look at exclusive stills from the standalone sequel below, including Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz in his film debut.
Gigi Gustin (Night of the Missing), Sarah French (Blind), Pancho Moler (3 From Hell), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), and Heather Grace Hancock (“Wicked City”) also star.
Dazelle Yvette, Jed Rowen (Blind), Joey Jupiter- Levin, Sarah Kaplan, Mark Justice (Death Count), Matt Wiggins, Ryan James (Mutilator 2), Ramiro Leal (Planet Dune), James Preston (“The Bay”), Scotch Hopkins (Verotika), and Bishop Stevens (Girl on the Third Floor) round out the cast.
The film follows glam metal band Leather Kobra as they film a music video at an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. Ignoring the ‘no trespassing’ signs, the rebellious group have no idea that they’re being watched by the Birdy family. Anyone that crosses their path will be met with a level of brutality that is as vicious as it is creative.
Frequent Walz collaborator Joe Knetter (Brute 1976, Blind, Twilight of the Dead) penned the script.
“The whole team and I had so much fun on this movie,” says Walz. “I’m a huge fan of the slasher genre, especially Friday the 13th 6, The Burning, Halloween, Sleepaway Camp, and many more. That being said, we also knew we can’t make a pure ’80s horror, but we transferred our love of those movies to the screen.”
Brute 1986 is currently in post-production.
