‘Locked’ Exclusive Clip – Anthony Hopkins Gives Bill Skarsgård a Little Taste of Hell
From producer Sam Raimi and director David Yarovesky (Brightburn), the horror-thriller Locked arrives in theaters TODAY, and we’ve got an exclusive clip for you this morning.
Bill Skarsgård finds himself trapped by a deliciously sinister Anthony Hopkins in Locked, and the exclusive clip below previews the battle of wits between the two characters.
You’ll also find the previously released official trailer down below.
In the intense thriller, “A petty thief (Bill Skarsgård) breaks into a state-of-the-art SUV, only to find himself trapped inside. Controlled remotely by its vengeful owner (Anthony Hopkins), the vehicle becomes a deadly prison, hurtling him into a high-speed battle for survival.”
Michael Arlen Ross (Turistas) wrote the screenplay.
Locked is a remake of the Argentinian action thriller 4X4.
David Yarovesky explained to Bloody Disgusting this week, “We’ve all seen movies where people are trapped in places before. I love those movies, but they’re often incredibly heightened and they quickly become unbelievable. They’re fun to explore, but they’re not believable. So I started reading the script and I was like, wow, what would it be like if someone really wanted to do this? How would it play out and how much would that suck? I think that’s the best and most compelling version of this movie. And that’s the thing I really haven’t seen before from this genre. So I wanted to give the viewer something completely fresh and new.”
“I really like to study the sub-genre of the film I’m about to make and so I watched a lot of movies where someone is trapped,” the filmmaker continued. “One of the weaknesses of the genre is that you can usually see where things are going. That doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy it, but you feel a little safe. And so we really tried to tell a story that kept surprising you and taking you in a direction that you didn’t expect—putting you, the viewer, through the ringer.”

How to Watch ‘Cam’ Free Online After the Tech Thriller Left Netflix
Before updating the video nasty Faces of Death, director Daniel Goldhaber and writer Isa Mazzei explored the dangers of online life in tech-thriller Cam, their feature debut that was acquired by Netflix in 2018 after making waves on the festival circuit.
At the end of last year, the Netflix exclusive quietly departed from the streaming platform, left without another streaming home.
It’s not an isolated story; Mike Flanagan’s Hush also left streaming entirely for a period until it was finally picked up on both physical media and other streaming services.
While the tech-thriller currently isn’t available to watch on Netflix, Tubi, Hulu, or any other platforms, that’s not a problem for Cam thanks to a very cool move by Goldhaber: the director has made his breakout film accessible to watch online for free via his website.
As his site notes: “CAM is unfortunately not currently available to view on any platforms, so you can watch it here if you like :).“
No subscriptions or fees necessary, just hit play.
Cam follows Alice (Madeline Brewer), who works as an online cam girl obsessed with her ranking on the cam site. The higher her ranking goes, the more it draws unwanted attention, and Alice soon finds herself replaced on her own show with a doppelganger.
Written by Mazzei, a former camgirl, it uses the horror thriller premise to examine the life of a sex worker; Alice’s career ambition is directly at odds with the shame it brings to her family, and how she tries to spare them from it by keeping them in the dark. It only compounds her danger when the doppelganger enters the equation in Goldhaber’s engaging thriller.
For a deep dive into the treacherous world of Cam, listen to Horror Queers’ episode on it now.
