Alexander Skarsgård in 'The Northman'

Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman, “True Blood”) is starring in the Gothic horror film The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands, Deadline reports.

Currently in production in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the feature is directed by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén (Clara Sola) from a script she co-wrote with Sjón (The Northman, Lamb).

Skarsgård plays a British widower in the 1880s Pacific Northwest who hires a Native American governess, educated in a Christian mission school, to teach his two daughters. While preparing the eldest for an arranged marriage, a force within her begins to awaken, threatening everything she has been taught.

Darla Contois (“Little Bird”), Bronte Carmichael (“Andor”), Lily LaTorre (Run Rabbit Run), Forrest Goodluck (How to Blow Up a Pipeline), and Pernilla August (Star Wars: Episode I-II) round out the cast.

“I feel incredibly lucky to work with a cast who dive into their roles with such generosity, playfulness, and openness. Collaborating with such a talented group of people from all around the world has been a privilege,” said Mesén. “Darla embodies Isabel with visceral emotional depth, and Alexander portrays the father with a truth and volatility that ground the story. I can’t wait for the film to reach audiences!”

“As someone who’s worked with myth and folk stories in novels, songs and screenplays, I was immediately fascinated by Nathalie’s command of bringing to the screen something as difficult as the shifting borders between the inner and outer reality of her film’s protagonist,” offered Sjón, who added “some dark Northern lyricism to Nathalie’s warm Latin American poetry.”

Nima Yousefi (The Apprentice) of Sweden’s Hobab produces alongside Resolve Media in the US, Quiddity Films in the UK, Need Productions in Belgium, and Still Vivid in Iceland.

Due out in May 2026, The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands will be released in Sweden by TriArt. Stay tuned for international distribution news.

Hold the Fort Trailer

Sunrise Films has announced the official North American release of William Bagley‘s horror comedy Hold the Fort, and it’s accompanied by an energetic new trailer.

Hold the Fort debuts on digital platforms on June 23.

In the film,Lucas and Jenny think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.

Watch the new trailer below, which introduces one wild HOA gathering during an equinox. Things get bloody fast.

Chris Mayers (Adult Swim Yule Log), Haley Leary (The Walking Dead), Levi Burdick, and Julian Smith star.

William Bagley writes and directs, in addition to producing with Smith, Matt Dodd, Luke Williams, and Tim Reis (Adult Swim Yule Log).

Ahead of the release, Bagley said,My goal with this film was to make a hilarious, fast-paced thrill ride while also telling a great story with heart. Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you.

Hold the Fort premiered at Fantasia last summer before going on to play FrightFest London, Toronto After Dark, and Beyond Fest.

I wrote in my review,It’s an infectiously charming assemblage of jokes and monster vignettes bound together by a barebones plot with not much on its mind beyond delivering an entertaining time.
