‘Rose of Nevada’ Trailer Sends George MacKay & Callum Turner on Hallucinatory Time-Travel Mystery

Rose of Nevada

Enys Men filmmaker Mark Jenkin is back with a new shot-on-film folk horror nightmare, Rose of Nevada, and the trailer sends stars George MacKay and Callum Turner on a strange voyage.

Rose of Nevada releases in New York and Los Angeles theaters on June 19, 2026.

In the horror film, “Three decades ago, the Rose of Nevada vanished at sea, along with its crew. Now, it has returned. In a remote fishing village, its reappearance is embraced as an auspicious sign, with the local citizens convinced the luck of their economically devastated community may turn, if only the ship sails again. Joining the crew is Nick (George MacKay), desperate to provide for his young family, and Liam (Callum Turner), a mysterious drifter eager to escape his past. After a successful voyage, they return to harbor, only to find that nothing is as they remember it.”

The film is also described as a “hallucinatory time-travel mystery.” The press release notes, “Jenkin conducts a cinematic séance, conjuring a portal into another world that forces us to confront the past and our relationship to it.”

Rose of Nevada was written, directed, edited, and scored by Jenkin, who shot the film on a 16mm Bolex camera. Jenkin also constructed all the sound in post.

Considering Jenkin’s previous film, Enys Men, was set on a remote island and also shot on 16mm Bolex, there may be a connection between films. Of course, we’ll have to wait until June to discover just how related these films may be.

In the meantime, check out the trailer below and stay tuned for more as it arrives.
