Jason Momoa will reunite with Fast X director Justin Lin on Helldrivers, an adaptation of Arrowhead Game Studios’ video game franchise.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions have set a November 10, 2027 release date for the sci-fi action film.
Lin will produce through his Perfect Storm Entertainment alongside Hutch Parker (Logan, Venom: Let There Be Carnage) and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash (“The Last of Us,” Until Dawn).
Released in 2015, Helldivers is a cooperative top-down shooter. As part of the elite unit called the Helldivers, players must work together to protect Super-Earth and defeat the enemies of mankind in an intense intergalactic war.
Helldivers 2 sold more than 12 million units within the first four months of its launch in 2024. In the cooperative third-person shooter, elite Helldivers wreak havoc on an alien scourge threatening the safety of Super-Earth.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions previously worked together on Uncharted, “The Last of Us,” and “Twisted Metal.”
