Damien Leone has taken to social media this afternoon to clear up false information about Terrifier 4, while also providing the first official update on the upcoming film in a few months.
The basic gist of Damien Leone’s update this week? He’s almost finished writing the script for Terrifier 4, and he hopes to enter the pre-production stage this coming Spring!
“Since there’s so much Terrifier 4 speculation and false information out there, I wanted to drop in and give an official update,” Leone begins his statement. “The script is very close to completion, and I’m hoping to begin pre-production this Spring. This is the most precious script I’ve written for many reasons, but it’s also the most challenging. There’s a lot of material to tackle and a lot riding on this one, not just creatively but emotionally.”
“We’ve built something special together over the years,” Leone continues. “The cast and crew who have been here since the beginning deserve a finale that honors their dedication, and the fans who’ve championed this franchise deserve something unforgettable.”
“In all honesty, I’m thrilled with the way it’s turning out and confident it will deliver,” he adds. “I will officially announce when the script is complete on my social media pages which also means we’ll be moving into pre-production. If you don’t see it coming from or confirmed by me, then it’s not official. I promise it will be worth the wait!”
What do we know about Terrifier 4?
David Howard Thornton will return as Art the Clown, and he promises it will be a “bat shit insane” finale. Lauren LaVera is also expected back as Art’s adversary, Sienna Shaw.
Damien Leone has previously teased that the upcoming Terrifier 4 will be “the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga.”
Art the Clown’s origin story?
Leone announced that Art’s backstory will be revealed in the opening 15 minutes. But don’t expect to learn too much about the killer clown. “I love the mystique,” Leone explained.
“I think a lot of people don’t realize the reason he works so well is because of the mystique,” he said last year. “If you pull the curtain back too far, and you lose that mystique, it’s over. You’re not supposed to see the wizard behind the curtain. It’s almost always a disappointment. I think there’s a way with his origin to have my cake and eat it too, but we’ll find out. I am taking a bit of a risk, but I’m very well aware about losing that mystique at the same time, so we’ll see if it plays out. I think the majority of people are going to be very cool with it.”
What is the Terrifier 4 release date?
