The cast for director Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist continues to grow, with Deadline reporting today that Sasha Calle (The Flash) is the latest actor to get possessed by the film.
Deadline reports, “Sasha Calle’s role in The Exorcist is being kept under wraps, as is the plot of the film, written and directed by Mike Flanagan, which is shooting in New York City.”
Universal will release Flanagan’s The Exorcist in theaters March 12, 2027.
Who else is part of Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist cast?
The main cast will include…
- Scarlett Johansson
- Laurence Fishburne
- Jacobi Jupe
- Diane Lane
- Chiwetel Ejiofor
The film will tell an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe. It is neither a remake of William Friedkin’s 1973 horror classic nor a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer.
Flanagan is producing via his Red Room Pictures banner alongside Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment. Executive producers include Red Room’s Alexandra Magistro and Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek.
How scary will Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist be?
“This is an opportunity to do something that I believe has never been done within the franchise — something that honors what came before it but isn’t built on nostalgia,“ Flanagan previously said of the project. “I really just saw an opportunity to make the scariest movie I’ve ever made. I know expectations are high. No one’s more intimidated than I am.”
Stay tuned for more as we learn it.
