The cast and filmmakers behind Ready or Not 2: Here I Come discuss the bigger, badder, bloodier sequel in a new featurette below.

As star Samara Weaving explains, Ready or Not 2 “picks up right where we left off” — with Grace on the steps, covered in blood, smoking a cigarette — before continuing to expand the world and its mythology.

“We have an insane death within the first five minutes of the film,” says Elijah Wood. “It sets the tone for where the film’s gonna go from there.”

The horror-comedy opens in theaters on March 20 via Searchlight Pictures.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence and writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy are back at the helm.

In the film, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.

Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne round out the cast.

Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer produce.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is rated R for “strong bloody violence, gore, pervasive language, and brief drug use.”
