After helming last year’s smash hit The Conjuring: Last Rites, Michael Chaves will next direct Netflix’s survival thriller creature feature Yeti.
Chris Pine (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), Iona Bell (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping), Ray Winstone (Damsel), and Sofia Boutella (The Mummy) star.
Set deep in the Alps, an avalanche has unleashed something primeval from the glacial ice. With no hope of rescue, a father (Pine) and his daughter (Bell) must fight to survive against a merciless predator that blends in with the snow.
Peter Gaffney (“Aaahh!!! Real Monsters”) and Sean Tretta (“12 Monkeys”) penned the script.
Erik Feig and Jessica Switch are producing for Picturestart, alongside Dan Kagan. Pine and Hans Ritter serve as executive producers.
Originally set up at Sony Pictures, the project made its way to Netflix last spring. Production has begun in Budapest, Hungary.
