Things get hairy in the trailer for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom — with nods to such genre classics as Dracula, Frankenstein, Jurassic Park, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Psycho.
Set on Halloween Eve at Mossy Bottom Farm, excitement turns to dismay when the clumsy farmer ruins the flock’s treasured pumpkin patch. Shaun tries fixing it with science experiments, but things rapidly spiral out of control when a wild beast appears in the woods.
Round up your flock to see the stop-motion animated adventure in theaters September 18. GKids is distributing in the US, while Sky Cinema handling the day-and-date UK release.
“Shaun the Sheep” veterans Steve Cox and Matthew Walker co-direct from a script by Mark Burton (Shaun the Sheep Movie, Madagascar) and Giles Pilbrow (“Shaun the Sheep”).
Justin Fletcher reprises his role as the bleating voice of Shaun, joined by John Sparkes and Kate Harbour.
Aardman Animations (“Wallace & Gromit,” “Chicken Run”) is behind the project. Richard Beek is producing, with Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox as executive producers.
A spin-off from “Wallace & Gromit,” “Shaun the Sheep” launched as a TV series in 2007. The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the franchise’s third film, following 2015’s Shaun the Sheep Movie and 2019’s A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon.
