Although Vinegar Syndrome has been involved in the production of several films — most notably Ryan Kruger’s Street Trash remake — Night of the Vamp-Friars will mark the first feature wholly produced by the boutique label.
Shot on 16mm film, the bloody love letter to the homegrown horror movies of yesteryear is written, directed, shot, and edited by Vinegar Syndrome’s own Kurtis M. Spieler (re-director of New York Ninja).
In the film, a punk band discovers a hidden cemetery in the woods where a group of Friars were killed and buried because the townspeople believed they were vampires. After blood is accidentally spilled on the hallowed ground, the undead Friars rise from their graves to seek fresh victims.
Abby Arza, Joey Ambrosini, Domenico Pugliese, Madison Grace Plummer, Kai Turner, Miles Dominici, and Frank Wihbey star.
Spieler produces alongside Amy Holomakoff. Executive producers include Ryan Emerson, Joe Rubin, Ralph Stevens, and Ian Stone.
Night of the Vamp-Friars will have its world premiere as the Chattanooga Film Festival‘s closing night film in Tennessee on June 27.
