‘The Furious’ Trailer – Gory Martial Arts Revenge Thriller Hits Theaters in May

<em>The Furious</em>

Xie Miao (The New Legend of Shaolin) and Joe Taslim (Mortal Kombat) will fight everyone to save their loved ones in The Furious.

The martial arts revenge thriller opens in theaters May 29 via Lionsgate. Watch the action-packed trailer below.

After his daughter is kidnapped by a criminal network and he receives no help from the corrupt police, Wang Wei sets out on a rampage to find her himself. His only ally is Navin, a relentless journalist whose wife has mysteriously disappeared. Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo ruthlessly fights against the kidnappers.

Kenji Tanigaki (Enter the Fat Dragon) directs from a script by Mak Tin Shu (Kung Fu Jungle), Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In), and Frank Hui.

Yang Enyou, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, Guo Junqing, Winai Wiangyangkung, Yayan Ruhian, and Jija Yanin round out the cast.

Bill Kong (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Shan Tam (Rumble in the Bronx), and Hui produce. Executive producers include Tianfu Xu, Nate Bolotin, Todd Brown, Maxime Cottray, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, and Michael J. Werner.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to play Sitges, Beyond Fest, Red Sea Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and Boston Underground Film Festival, among others.

The Furious is rated R for “strong bloody violence and language.”
