Jason Reitman has come on board to produce a supernatural thriller titled 71 Minutes, The Hollywood Reporter lets us know tonight, and this one has a unique real-time premise.
Sony Pictures picked up the original spec script from Ian Shorr (Infinite) – write your spec, will ya?! – and Jason Reitman will produce 71 Minutes via his Ghost Corps banner.
“[Reitman] is not attached to direct at this stage,” The Hollywood Reporter notes.
The website details, “While many of the details are being kept under the tombstones, the project is described as a real-time thriller about a man who needs to elude his pursuers in a ticking clock scenario and only has 71 minutes until the sun rises to do so.”
The Hollywood Reporter notes that “over 20 production companies, plus some studios” were eager to snatch up Ian Shorr’s spec script, but Sony ended up coming out on top.
