Announced back in 2023 for a planned 2024 release, the It Follows sequel They Follow may finally be moving forward.
“We’re doing it!” Maika Monroe proclaimed during a recent appearance on Happy Sad Confused. “That’s the next job.”
“It’s very dark,” Monroe says of the script. “We’re pushing the boundaries on this one for sure.”
She continues, “Even reading the script, you get the same sense of the nostalgia, the slow camera movements, everything.”
Monroe will reprise her role as Jay Height, who was pursued by a supernatural entity in the 2014 modern horror classic. A decade later, the threat is everywhere.
Writer-director David Robert Mitchell is back at the helm, with Neon and Good Fear Content on board to produce.
While we wait for They Follow, Monroe can be seen in the recent Resident Evil Requiem short film.
