Friday, March 27 – These 6 New Horror Movies Just Released Today

This week already saw the release of nine new horror movies on Tuesday, March 24, and another SIX of them have now been released in theaters and at home to kick off the weekend.

Here’s all the new horror that released on Friday, March 27, 2026!


Zazie Beetz Patricia Arquette

A New York City high-rise serves as a temple to Satan, and new maid Zazie Beetz is its latest human sacrifice in They Will Kill You. The film is now playing in theaters nationwide.

Zazie Beetz stars as a young woman who must survive the night at the Virgil, a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap of a lair, before becoming their next offering.

Myha’La, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette round out the cast of They Will Kill You. Get your tickets now and watch the trailer below.

Kirill Sokolov (Why Don’t You Just Die!) directs from a script he co-wrote with Alex Litvak (Predators). IT filmmaker Andy Muschietti produces alongside Barbara Muschietti.

Based on the hit horror video game, The Mortuary Assistant was released in select theaters last month. The film is now streaming exclusively on Shudder beginning today.

The Mortuary Assistant follows newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens, who accepts a night shift at a mortuary, embalming bodies alone after hours. As disturbing events escalate, Rebecca uncovers demonic rituals, the dark secrets of her enigmatic mentor, and her own buried trauma — racing to survive the night before her body becomes a vessel for possession.

Willa Holland (“Arrow”) and Paul Sparks (“Boardwalk Empire”) star, with Mark Steger (“Stranger Things”) as The Mimic. The Mortuary Assistant creator Brian Clarke co-wrote the script with Tracee Beebe. Jeremiah Kipp (Slapface) directs.

Originally released on PC in 2022, The Mortuary Assistant quickly became a viral sensation and made its way to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The film will expand on the game’s world, delving deeper into the lore of the demonic entities plaguing River Fields.


Proving herself to be a singular voice with Raw and Titane, French writer-director Julia Ducournau is back with new movie Alpha, now playing in theaters from NEON.

Ducournau’s third movie follows Alpha, a troubled 13-year-old who lives with her single mom. Their world collapses the day she returns from school with a tattoo on her arm.

Tahar Rahim (Madame Web), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction), Mélissa Boros, Emma Mackey (Death on the Nile), Finnegan Oldfield (Infested), and Louai El Amrousy star.


How well do you really know your father? The person who’s a loving dad to you could be something far more dangerous to everyone else. That’s the case in Tubi Original Rockabye.

The psychological thriller is now streaming only on Tubi.

Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh (“Chicago Fire”) stars as a grieving woman who suspects her father didn’t take his own life. Her hunt for the truth turns treacherous when his friends start dying.

Chris Stokes (You Got Served) directs Rockabye from a script he co-wrote with frequent collaborators Marques Houston (Til Death Do Us Part) and Chaz Echols.

Donald Brumfield Jr.Claudia Jordan (Sharknado 5), Wesley Jonathan (“What I Like About You”), Garret DavisCisco Reyes, and Lisa Ann Loggins round out the cast.


“Baby Reindeer” meets Misery in UK horror movie Barren, now available at home.

In the film, “After pregnant Emily crashes outside a mill, desperate Julia believes the baby is a gift from God-and will do whatever it takes to make it hers, no matter the cost.”

Rebecca-Clare Evans and Michaela Longden star.
