Eager to wade into shark-infested waters ahead of the summer season? South Florida genre fest Popcorn Frights is hosting free screenings of Deep Water and Deep Blue Sea.
Catch the special double feature, for free and open to the public, via Popcorn Friday on Wednesday, April 15.
If the early screening isn’t enticing enough, the filmmaker will be in attendance.
Director Renny Harlin makes a special in-person appearance for a double-feature event celebrating his return to shark cinema. The night begins at 7:00 pm with a special presentation of the upcoming Deep Water, courtesy of Magenta Light Studios. At 9:30 pm, the terror continues with a big screen presentation of Deep Blue Sea.
In Renny Harlin’s Deep Water, “A flight from Los Angeles to Shanghai goes down in the middle of the Pacific. After surviving the crash, the survivors soon discover they’re not alone, and they must survive the shark-infested waters. The terrified group is forced to work together and overcome their differences if they hope to escape their sinking plane and the frenzy of sharks.”
Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley star alongside Molly Wright (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), Angus Sampson (Insidious), Kelly Gale (Plane), and Li Wenhan from K-Pop group UNIQ.
Produced by Gene Simmons, Deep Water will be released only in theaters by Magenta Light Studios on May 1, 2026.
Admission is free, and seating is limited, so head to Popcorn Frights for details and catch up on the Deep Water trailer here.
