Well Go USA Entertainment has unveiled new images from sci-fi action movie Legend of the White Dragon, which will bring the return of a Power Rangers icon to the big screen this summer.
Legend of the White Dragon releases in theaters on August 28.
The film marks the final performance by the late actor and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers‘ icon Jason David Frank as Erik Reed (The White Dragon), a disgraced superhero who comes out of hiding to save his city once more.
Mark Dacascos (John Wick III), King Bach (The Walking Dead, Greenland), Michael Madsen (Kill Bill, Sin City), David Ramsey (Arrow, The Flash), Jason Faunt, Rachel Brooke Smith, Ciara Hanna, Kevin Porter, Mayling Ng, Cerina Vincent and Jenna Rae Frank (daughter of the late Jason David Frank) also star.
Aaron Schoenke stars as adversary Dragon Prime and directs.
“It has been a labor of love for everyone involved, and we believe that audiences will be captivated by the rich storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and exceptional performances in this film. We can’t wait for fans around the world to experience the magic of this feature,” said Schoenke in a press statement.
In 2022, Jason David Frank died by suicide, and it’s clear that Legend of the White Dragon is a heartfelt tribute to his legacy as Tommy Oliver and The White Ranger in the hugely popular Power Rangers series.
Well Go USA Entertainment’s CEO, Doris Pfardrescher, stated that it “not only delivers the thrilling sci-fi action fans crave, but also celebrates the life and legacy of Jason David Frank.”
The movie appropriately arrives in theaters on National Power Rangers Day.
