Callan McAuliffe‘s (“The Walking Dead”) reality will erode in Deluxe Ocean View, a psychological horror film now in production in Cape Cod, Deadline reports.
Camryn Manheim (“Ghost Whisperer”), Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost”), Ray Campbell (“Breaking Bad”), and Ryan Powers (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”) also star.
Set on the icy shores of Massachusetts in the dead of winter, the film follows renowned exposé journalist Ethan Everett (McAuliffe), who arrives at a nearly empty luxury resort for a career-saving interview, unaware that the hotel itself may be a malevolent force exposing buried truths before destroying its guests.
As the off-season staff and lingering visitors — including enigmatic owner Vera (Manheim), watchful manager Oliver (Campbell), morally layered Simon (Cusick), and elusive drifter Johnny (Powers) — draw Ethan into a psychological maze of guilt and repression, the boundary between reality and nightmare begins to erode.
Laurence Vannicelli (Mother, May I?) is directing from a script written by Powers.
Powers is producing via his R U Mad At Me Productions alongside Jason B. Stamey and Ellyn Vander Wyden. “The Fosters” creator Bradley Bredeweg, who was previously attached to direct, serves as executive producer.
