Steve Zahn (Joy Ride, Anaconda) is orbiting the sci-fi thriller Sentinel, Deadline reports.
He’ll star as an engineer trapped in a drifting escape pod who must uncover who is sabotaging his chances of survival before his oxygen runs out.
Actor Rick Gomez (“Justified,” “Band of Brothers”) — who recently made his feature directorial debut on She Dances, written with and starring Zahn — will helm the film.
Sentinel is the inaugural project from InTension Industries, a genre-focused production company launched by longtime Disney executive Brigham Taylor, former Sony Pictures Classics exec Ian Puente, and indie producers Dave Hunter and Tom Goodall.
They’re also producing Rio Diablo, a survival thriller about a band of mercenaries whose mission unravels when they’re hunted through the South African jungle by an escaped bull hippo. Esteban Arango will direct.

Sentinel is slated to enter production later this year for a 2027 release.
