Director Darren Bousman (Saw II-IV, Spiral) is partnering with Paris Hilton’s 11:11 Media on the upcoming horror movie Road to Reality, Deadline reports this morning.
The story for Road to Reality plays out in the “imploding world of a long-running reality television franchise” and will reportedly “take aim at a culture in which relevance is capital, identity is performance, and public collapse is repackaged as entertainment.”
Darren Bousman is directing from a screenplay by Katina Nikou.
Paris Hilton will executive produce the horror movie for 11:11 Media.
Bousman said in a statement, “I couldn’t be more excited to re-team with Paris Hilton.” It was 18 years ago that Bousman directed Hilton in horror musical Repo! The Genetic Opera.
“We’ve stayed close for over two decades, and when a script set in the world of reality TV landed in my hands, there was only one person I wanted in the trenches with me,” Bousman continued. “Paris doesn’t just understand that world — she helped define it — and she’s always approached it with a sharp, subversive sense of humor that people underestimate. She’s fearless, unpredictable, and brings an energy that elevates everything around her.”
