The final trailer for Minions & Monsters introduces a new tribe of Minions in early Hollywood, where their attempt at making a monster movie becomes all too real.
The seventh installment in Illumination’s Despicable Me franchise opens in theaters — including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, and HDR by Barco — on July 1 via Universal.
It tells the story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world, and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.
Pierre Coffin, who helmed the first three Despicable Me films and the first Minions film, is back in the director’s chair. He co-wrote the script with Brian Lynch (Minions, The Secret Life of Pets).
Coffin voices the Minions, as he has done since their film debut in 2010. The cast also includes Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Trey Parker, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.
Illumination founder Chris Meledandri produces alongside Bill Ryan (The Super Mario Bros. Movie). Lynch serves as executive producer.
