From Terrifier‘s Art the Clown to The Mean One, Screamboat, and Stream, David Howard Thornton has cemented himself as a modern horror icon — but The Dead Place marks his first speaking role.
The indie horror film streams exclusively on BloodStream June 1 before hitting VOD on August 5. Watch the trailer below.
Idris Veliu (“Power”), Angel Nichole Bradford (Crackcoon), Bill Oberst Jr. (3 from Hell), Beatrice Boepple (A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child), Suziey Block (Horror in the High Desert), and Lexi Graves also star.
Troubled high school senior Isaac (Veliu) is plagued by visions of the dead, causing friction in his family and making him an outcast at school. His only friend Katharine (Graves) is obsessed with the paranormal and tries desperately to help him, but a “new kid” (Thornton) pushes him to give in to the demon trying to burrow its way inside him (Oberst Jr).
Consumed by the evil feeding off the dead souls that haunt him, Katharine is the only one that stands between Isaac and his darker impulses; to satisfy the bloodlust of the demon that dwells within him.
Writer-director Michael Pickle makes his feature debut on the project, which hails from Horror Show Pictures and Dead of Winter Productions.
The Dead Place will have a theatrical premiere with Thornton and other cast and crew in attendance on June 10 at Lumiere Cinema in Beverly Hills. Tickets are on sale now.
