The Knifepoint Horror podcast is getting a feature film adaptation with the upcoming Fiona, and Deadline reports that Maggie Grace (“Fear the Walking Dead”) is set to star.
Steve Howey (Off Campus) will also star in the upcoming horror movie Fiona.
The film from Capstone Studios (Obsession, Don’t Move) “follows a lonely, divorced doctor who falls in love with a mysterious woman in rural America, only to discover she is channeling the raw forces of Mother Nature toward an apocalyptic purpose.” Deadline details, “He must then decide whether to save the woman he loves or the world she intends to destroy.”
Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Door, The Prodigy) will be directing Fiona, based on an original story by Knifepoint‘s writer, creator, and narrator Soren Narnia.
Justin Yoffe and Evan Hart wrote the movie’s screenplay.
“There’s something in Fiona that speaks to a collective exhaustion with each other, with the state of the world, with the damage humanity continues to inflict on itself and the environment. The film channels that anxiety into horror that feels primal, emotional, and strangely cathartic,” said Peak Pictures producer Kearie Peak.
Director Nicholas McCarthy said in his own statement, “As a lifelong fan of horror movies, I’ve always wanted to make a movie about a witch — and with Fiona, I finally found the perfect project. I love Soren Narnia’s Knifepoint Horror universe and can’t wait to bring it to life.”
Fiona is planning a theatrical release followed by a streaming premiere on MGM+.
