With Obsession and Backrooms putting horror at the forefront of the box office conversation this week, Paramount’s Scary Movie couldn’t possibly be coming along at a better time. After all, the hotter modern horror is, the better a spoof of the modern horror genre is likely to perform. Scary Movie arrives in theaters this week, and you can watch the Final Trailer below.
Hitting theaters June 5, 2026, Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!
