We are just five months away from the release of Robert Eggers’ brand new horror movie Werwulf, and Focus Features has unleashed one hell of an official poster this morning.
The poster comes with a brand new tagline: “Devoureth All Mankynde.”
Check out the new poster for Werwulf below, which gives us a sneak peek at the movie’s werewolf and comes bathed in a perfectly atmospheric classic black & white horror feel.
“We shot on 35mm film, and we used an orthochromatic treatment in post to make the skin tones more wrecked [with complexions that appear sickly or discolored]. Additionally, we’ve found a way to incorporate the grain structure of black-and-white film onto color film. So it has a very unique look.” Robert Eggers recently explained to Esquire.
Set in 13th century England, Werwulf sees a mysterious creature stalk the land as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality. The film hits theaters on December 25 via Focus Features.
Here’s the logline: “Witness Robert Eggers’ most visceral and haunting experience yet. Focus Features presents Werwulf, a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation and the devil within.”
Eggers recently teased, “It’s the darkest thing I’ve ever written. By far.”
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nosferatu), Lily-Rose Depp (Nosferatu), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) star.
