Pixar has announced that they’re diving into the supernatural with the upcoming Ghost Market, being advertised as the beloved company’s very first foray into the world of ghosts.
The animated supernatural adventure Ghost Market will haunt theaters in Spring 2028.
Ghost Market is said to be a tale about “hungry ghosts.” It’s inspired by Asian folklore.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Hidden away in a remote location on Oahu’s North Shore is ‘Ono Market, a plate lunch shop that serves lost spirits, stuck between life and death. The living have never set foot in this place – until a food-loving, would-be content creator named Kyle blunders in, eats a mixed plate for the dead, and accidentally turns himself into a half-ghost.
“To get back to normal, he’ll have to deal with paranormal deliveries, long hours in a haunted kitchen, and scariest of all…his own family.”
Jesse Andrews and Trevor Jimenez directed the film for Pixar.
Below you’ll find the first teaser from Disney’s D23 event this past weekend.
