Creator Charlie Brooker had announced early this year that Netflix ordered up “Black Mirror” Season 8, and Variety now reports that production on Season 8 is already underway.
Variety writes in this morning’s exclusive report, “The show started shooting this summer, although no launch date for the new season of Black Mirror has been set yet.”
Brooker teases, “Black Mirror will return, and hopefully it’ll be more Black Mirror than ever.”
Charlie Brooker is writing and producing “Black Mirror” Season 8 alongside Bisha K.Ali.
Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones, and Louise Sutton will executive produce the new season.
“Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion.
Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.
The hit series premiered in 2011, a sort of “Twilight Zone” for the modern day.
