The first full clip has been officially released for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, and it’s quite possibly the coolest clip we’ve run on Bloody Disgusting this entire year. It’s also fittingly both bloody and disgusting, with infected monsters quite literally exploding all over the screen.
In the clip, Austin Abrams’ character finds himself trapped in the city with infected all around him, and this particular group of infected are standing atop tall buildings. One by one, they jump to their deaths, the bodies raining down on Abrams’ character like exploding blood bags.
It’s an AWESOME clip, and you can watch the nearly 3-minute sequence below. As you might’ve guessed, the film is Rated R for “strong bloody violence, gore and language throughout.”
Tickets for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil are on sale NOW.
Resident Evil infects theaters September 18.
Based on the iconic video game franchise, the film is “a thrilling — and terrifying — reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise” from the mind of visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger.
Austin Abrams (Weapons) stars as Bryan, a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in a non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
Zach Cherry (“Severance”), Kali Reis (“True Detective: Night Country”), Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”), and Johnno Wilson (“Twisted Metal”) round out the movie’s cast.
Zach Cregger tells Empire Magazine that Resident Evil is “definitely the most violent thing I’ve done.” He teases, “You gotta go grotesque! I wanted to go all the way.”
