Released in theaters last Halloween as part of a double bill with Hallow Road, the French black comedy thriller Vincent Must Die is already getting a remake here in the United States.
AR Content, Vertigo and Blumhouse Atomic Monster are teaming to remake Vincent Must Die, and Variety reports that David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring: Last Rites) will write and direct. Producers include Roy Lee for Vertigo and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster.
Directed by Stéphan Castang, the original Vincent Must Die follows Vincent, an ordinary man who suddenly finds himself under physical attack by anyone who makes eye contact with him.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will make his feature directorial debut with the film, though he’s previously written a handful of successful horror movies including Orphan, The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and The Conjuring: Last Rites.
