Fourteen years in the making, Hammer Films’ brand new monster movie Ithaqua is finally on the way, and the revived horror label has released the official trailer this week.
The legendary brand Hammer Films is plotting a return with a brand new slate of movies under the ownership of British theater producer John Gore, the new team aiming to “celebrate and preserve the unmatched legacy of Hammer and to usher in a new era of storytelling.” The first in that slate is Ithaqua, which brings us the first new Hammer monster in over 60 years!
Ithaqua will release sometime in Early 2027. Watch the official teaser trailer below.
The film is set in the brutal wilderness of 1800s Canada…
“A remote 1800s fur-trade outpost is plagued by an ancient evil with an insatiable hunger for flesh. The cold is the least of anyone’s problems.”
Directed by Casey Walker and starring Luke Hemsworth, Leenah Robinson, Kevin Durand, Craig Lauzon and Michael Pitt, Ithaqua is described by Hammer as a “haunting folk horror experience where isolation, hunger and myth collide.”
“This is horror as it was meant to be: terrifying and utterly unforgettable,” teases Hammer.
