Ghostly Voices Bleed Through A VHS Tape In ‘Death Of A Yellow Bird’ Teaser

Death of a Yellow Bird teaser

A buried VHS becomes a conduit for ghostly communication in the teaser and poster for Death of a Yellow Bird, set to make its premiere this week at Fantastic Fest.

The atmospheric horror movie is written and directed by Cody Calahan (Vicious Fun, The Oak Room).

In the film, “After refusing treatment, a terminally ill man returns to his childhood home searching for closure. While there he discovers, buried in the earth, the family’s long lost VHS camera. Inside the camera he finds a video tape of home movies. But as he watches, something disturbing begins bleeding through the static. And before long, a disembodied voice.

“At first, he suspects it’s his medication, but soon discovers a lurking presence, turning his isolated childhood home into a waking nightmare. With his days numbered and the hauntings escalating, he must solve a dark family secret before his past consumes him.”

Ari Millen (undertone, The Ice Cream Man) stars.

Calahan and Millen also produce alongside Chad Archibald and Jeff Maher.

Fantastic Fest writes, “Calahan’s feature is an unsettling look at personal healing and sacrifice, with a sound design that demands a theatrical viewing experience. The film is sure to be one of the most cathartic experiences at this year’s fest.”
