The Opening Night film at this year’s Sitges Film Festival is Found Alive, the first English-language feature from Carlota Pereda (Piggy), and a new image gives a first look at lead Chloë Grace Moretz. as the former captive of a sadistic killer.
Grace-Moretz stars alongside Rupert Friend (Companion), Keith Jardine (Over Your Dead Body), Thomas Cocquerel (Escape Room: Tournament of Champions), and Scott Haze (Jurassic World: Dominion).
In Found Alive, “Ten years after escaping a sadistic captor as a teenager, Reeve LeClaire (Moretz) agrees to mentor a newly rescued survivor. When the girl’s story points to other missing victims, Reeve enters a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to find them before it’s too late.”
The psychological thriller is written by Matt Venne (“Dexter: Resurrection,” White Noise 2: The Light) with revisions by Lori Evans Taylor (Final Destination: Bloodlines) and Carlota Pereda, and based on the 2013 novel The Edge of Normal by true crime author Carla Norton. The Edge of Normal is also the former title of Found Alive.
Sitges calls the film “a fast-paced survival thriller masterfully filmed by the director of Piggy.”
No stranger to horror, Moretz’s genre credits include Carrie, The Amityville Horror, Let Me In, Suspiria, Greta, and Dark Shadows.
