There’s a very niche subgenre of genre thrillers that sees its lead trapped in a toilet as circumstances grow increasingly deranged. That’s certainly the case for Flush, which the trailer promises will be insane.
Dark Sky Films releases Flush on Digital on October 9.
Directed by French filmmaker Grégory Morin and written by David Neiss, the premise for Flush does sound suitably insane. In the film, “Trying to win back his girlfriend in a shady nightclub, Luke finds himself caught in the middle of a drug deal gone wrong. Left for dead with his head stuck in the hole of a squat toilet, he must survive a nightmarish odyssey involving violent dealers, a junkie rat, and an ever-spiraling series of deranged and chaotic events.“
Jonathan Lambert, Élodie Navarre, Elliot Jenicot, and Rémy Adriaens star.
Flush received a successful festival run leading to its release, screening at Beyond Fest, Sitges Film Festival, Fantasia, The Overlook Film Festival, Chattanooga Film Festival, and Phoenix Film Festival. It won Best International Feature at Fantasia’s 2025 edition, and Sitges described the film as “scatological horror in its purest form,” that’s “unlike anything you’ve seen before.
“Flush was born out of a desire to push the boundaries of genre and explore the chaos of human desperation through humour and horror. Dark Sky Films has a legacy of bold storytelling, and it’s the perfect home for the film’s US release,” said WTF Films’ Gregory Chambet.
Dark Sky added, “Flush is a wildly entertaining and unforgettable ride – just the kind of fearless, boundary-pushing horror we are known for at Dark Sky.”
