‘Anything But Ghosts’ – Title Treatment Revealed for Curry Barker’s New Horror Movie

After dominating the box office with theatrical debut Obsession, writer/director Curry Barker is back next year with his horror-comedy follow-up movie Anything But Ghosts.

Anything But Ghosts will release in theaters on May 7, 2027.

Check out the official title treatment and expect more soon.

Curry Barker directs the film from a script he co-wrote with longtime creative partner Cooper Tomlinson (Milk & Serial, Obsession). The duo also stars as wannabe ghost hunters who must face real ghosts while dealing with the deception of their own fraudulent business.

“It’s all going to feel like the same brand,” Curry Barker previously told Bloody Disgusting. “It’s slightly different. It’s so different than Obsession, because the idea itself just lends itself better to comedy, because it’s literally about two ghost hunter con artists.”

Barker teased of the film’s tone, “It’s Cooper and me doing our thing, so it lends itself better to comedy, but it’s still set in this super grounded world. It’s ghosts being real in a world where ghosts are not real. Just like [Obsession] is a wish going wrong in a movie where magic doesn’t exist or in a world where magic doesn’t exist, right? That’s kind of what I try to do.”

Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Chris Reinacher (“Superstore”), and Violet McGraw (M3GAN) also star in Anything But Ghosts.

Blumhouse’s Jason Blum produces with Roy Lee & Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures (Hokum) and Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer (M3GAN). Executive producers include Barker & Tomlinson for That’s a Bad Idea and Ben Ross for Image Nation (Late Night with the Devil).
