Following in the wake of this year’s blood-soaked Brute 1976 is the sequel Brute 1986, with director Marcel Walz (Blood Feast, Blind) this time around paying tribute to 1980s horror.
Watch the official trailer for Brute 1986 below.
In the upcoming Brute 1986, “A glam metal band and their crew venture to an abandoned desert town to film a music video. Unbeknownst to them, a deranged family of violent misfits lives there, and they don’t take well to uninvited visitors. As they begin killing off their unwanted guests, the band, unable to escape, plots revenge.”
Gigi Gustin (Night of the Missing), Sarah French (Blind), Pancho Moler (3 From Hell), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), and Heather Grace Hancock (“Wicked City”) will star.
Dazelle Yvette, Jed Rowen (Blind), Joey Jupiter- Levin, Sarah Kaplan, Mark Justice (Death Count), Matt Wiggins, Ryan James (Mutilator 2), Ramiro Leal (Planet Dune), James Preston (“The Bay”), Scotch Hopkins (Verotika), and Bishop Stevens (Girl on the Third Floor) round out the cast, with Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz making his film debut.
The film follows glam metal band Leather Kobra as they film a music video at an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. Ignoring the ‘no trespassing’ signs, the rebellious group have no idea that they’re being watched by the Birdy family. Anyone that crosses their path will be met with a level of brutality that is as vicious as it is creative.
Joe Knetter (Brute 1976, Blind, Twilight of the Dead) penned the script.
“The whole team and I had so much fun on this movie,” director Marcel Walz tells Bloody Disgusting. “I’m a huge fan of the slasher genre, especially Friday the 13th Part 6, The Burning, Halloween, Sleepaway Camp, and many more. That being said, we also knew we can’t make a pure ’80s horror, but we transferred our love of those movies to the screen.”
Brute 1986 is coming soon from Cinephobia Releasing. Stay tuned for release information.
