‘Jump Scare’: Rock And Roll Cannibal Horror Heads to Theaters on Halloween Hangover Tour

Throw up the metal horns for new rock and roll horror: Antenna Releasing has acquired North American rights to Jump Scare, the horror feature from director Donnie Hobbie and Ugly Duckling Pictures, and it’s going on a “Halloween Hangover Tour” this fall.

The “Halloween Hangover Tour,” a theatrical roadshow with the filmmaker in attendance, begins Thursday, November 12, 2026. Jump Scare opens in additional theaters in late November and arrives on digital platforms in early December before arriving on streaming in early 2027.

The tour was “borne out of necessity,” says Chief Acquisitions Officer Billy Ray Brewton. “The October season became so saturated with titles that we decided – ‘Why not give horror fans a chance to enjoy the spirit of Halloween in November, wash away the abundance of blood and guts from October, and enjoy a horror picture that hits you on a very different wavelength…(don’t worry, there are still plenty of blood and guts).‘”

In the film, an all-female metal band called “Jump Scare” retreats to a remote cabin to write their next album, only to be terrorized by the family of cannibals next door.

It’s described as “phantasmagoric homage to filmmakers like Don Coscarelli and Chuck Russell, part punk-rock ode to grindhouse slasher cinema, and a post-modern cannibal film that also happens to co-star everyone’s favorite working actor, Eric Roberts.“

Brewton adds: “We don’t come across too many films like Jump Scare, a film with big ambition, staggeringly hypnotic imagery, and the kind of horror lingo that is far too uncommon these days. You know when you’re watching filmmakers with a bright future, and it has been a thrill to help champion this film for future fans.”

Shannon Dang, Erin Ruth Walker, Madison Abbott, Natasha Estrada, and Chelsea Talmadge also star in Jump Scare. The rockin’ horror movie is directed by Donnie Hobbie and produced by Brendan Thomas. Says filmmaker Donnie Hobbie: “It’s the simple things in life. Chainsaws, Music, and buckets of blood.”

The Jump Scare Halloween Hangover Tour offers a preview screening Sunday, October 25 at Brain Dead Studios in Los Angeles as part of Antenna’s Twisted Signals Festival before launching in November. Roadshow stops include: Chicago, New York City, Boston, St. Louis, Kansas City, and a stop at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, on November 27.

More dates will be added, and you can follow the tour at Antenna Releasing.
