Chicago instrumental post-metal band Russian Circles have released a stream of “Mota”, a new track from their upcoming album Guidance. The track, which you can hear below (courtesy of Stereogum), opens with a beautiful, almost hopeful progression. Once we enter the second minute, things begin taking a turn as the song veers into a more mysterious path before erupting into glorious distortion. Whereas many of the tracks on Memorial felt like the soundtrack to an icy landscape, “Mota” bears a strangely tropical feel, the thick guitars crashing like waves.
Guidance comes out August 5th via Sargent House.
