A month ago, thrash metal titans Metallica stunned everyone when they not only released a new song “Hardwired” but also announced that it was the first single to a brand new album that would be coming out November 18th via Blackened Records. Dubbed Hardwired…to Self Destruct, it will feature 12 new tracks spread across a double album.
Now that everyone has had a chance to digest “Hardwired”, a cool video has come out that takes the new single and acts as though it appeared on previous albums, from Kill ’em All through The Black Album. It’s interesting to hear the different tones and how the song would’ve genuinely fit on pretty much all of them. I even mentioned before that I felt like “Hardwired” was, “…a throwback to the almost punk thrash influences from their early releases“, so it’s cool to actually hear that in action!
