Metallica are apparently in the “treat” mood this Halloween as they’ve just released a new track titled “Atlas, Rise!”, the second track from their upcoming album Hardwired…To Self Destruct. The video uses behind-the-scenes footage of the band writing and recording the song, complete with their mistakes and camaraderie. It’s obvious that these guys had an absolute blast making this record, which only bodes well for the final product!
“Atlas, Rise!” itself is another killer track from this album, which has so far seen two tracks released (previously, we’ve heard “Hardwired” and “Moth Into Flame”). There’s even a part towards the middle of the track that has a bit of an Iron Maiden feel but the overall track sounds almost like something I’d hear on Master of Puppets or …And Justice for All, just with more modern tones. Fuck me, I love this.
Hardwired…To Self Destruct comes out November 18th.
