“Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time.”
At last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift premiered the music video for new single “Look What You Made Me Do,“ which previously received a lyric video earlier in the week. The full video, directed by Detention filmmaker Joseph Kahn, sees Taylor essentially killing off her past selves, ushering in a new era of her career.
The first 40-seconds of the video are a straight up horror short, as Kahn films an undead Swift crawling from the grave and, well, burying herself. As a zombie, Swift looks like she walked straight off the set of “The Walking Dead”; in fact, the official WD Twitter humorously tweeted that the video is “one way to send us an audition tape.”
It seems the old Taylor is dead. And the new one is a whole lot darker.
