An alternate Miami. An alternate 1987. A Dystopian reality in which Technology has advanced far beyond our own world’s. The city of Miami struggles to keep it’s head above water as crime spirals out of control. However, In this hub of arms trading and drug dealing lives a man that stands against it all. Jack Lancer. The MIAMI COP.
Tokyo based synthwave artist XENNON‘s debut concept album Miami Cop tells the story of Jack Lancer as he battles through a dystopian future Miami. Each song takes you through a distinct chapter of the story that XENNON details here with perfectly matched art by Travis Wright.
XENNON has created his own world of heroes and villains as the story sets up a distinctly 80’s cop tale with a cyberpunk twist. My favorite track is an epic 8 minute track titled The Raid where our hero has the villain cornered and we listen through an epic fight to the end. If you like vocals with your synthwave and are craving a huge dose of nostalgia, sit back and give The Montage a listen. The 8 track album features some incredibly thoughtful songwriting, authentic nostalgia fueled synths, and was mastered by Pete Maher (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, U2) .
Give Miami Cop a listen on bandcamp or Spotify, and find XENNON on Twitter! If you’re new to synthwave, give XENNON’s massive Spotify playlist a follow here and of course follow our official dark synthwave Spotify play list here!
