Eminem Pays Tribute to Alfred Hitchcock With Surprise New Album “Music to Be Murdered By”

In the middle of the night, Eminem made his return with the brand new album Music to Be Murdered By, an interesting title that may sound familiar to horror fans in particular.

The album’s title, along with its cover art, was directly inspired by “Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Music to Be Murdered By,” an album released in 1958 that featured music from Jeff Alexander along with monologues from the master of suspense himself. Hitchcock appeared on the cover of the album, with a gun pressed to one side of his head and an ax to the other.

The cover photograph for Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By is a direct recreation of that classic Hitchcock image, and Eminem gave a shout-out to the Hitch on Twitter last night:

Music to Be Murdered By, available now wherever you listen to your music, also samples Hitchcock speeches for an interlude and an outro that are both titled “Alfred.”

True legends never die, and Alfred Hitchcock’s work is clearly living forever. Gotta love it.
