Listen to the New Track “Destructive Field” from ‘Halloween’ Composers Daniel Davies and John Carpenter

Horror master John Carpenter has collaborated with musician Daniel Davies several times in recent years, the two working together on Lost Themes, Lost Themes II and Halloween (2018), and they’ve once again joined forces for the brand new track Destructive Field!

From ‘Signals,’ the new Daniel Davies solo record that’s being released on February 28th from Sacred Bones Records, the track was released today and can be listened to down below.

Carpenter tweeted today, “I was honored to play on Destructive Field, the new single from @DDaviesMusic‘s upcoming album ‘Signals,’ out 2/28. Listen to it now!”

With the exception of this track, all the music on ‘Signals’ is recorded by Davies himself.

Sacred Bones explains the album, “Whether scoring a film or making a solo album, Daniel Davies thinks cinematically. Images and story – on a movie screen, on a canvas, or flashing through his mind – inform the shape of his compositions and the sounds he uses to bring them to life. For Signals, his first solo record for Sacred Bones, the inspiration for his musical narration was a collaboration with visual artist Jesse Draxler, whose otherworldly mixed media works grace the cover and the booklet.”

“Using Draxler’s images as his jumping off point, Davies created eight richly textured compositions that created a soundtrack for the unsettling world of the artwork.”
