Original: Top 10 Post-Break Up Songs

Published

on

I dont care what anyone says, if you’ve just been broken up with, you are not a happy person. And pretty much nothing about you is happy for the next few weeks, or months, or (hopefully not) years. First things first, let’s listen to some good ole’ break-up jams. Then we’ll get back to the sobbing, bitching, and late night text messages. Try to keep it together while I list my top 10 post-break-up songs.

Songs are in no particular order.
1.) The Acacia Strain – Whoa! Shut it Down.
This song tells it exactly like it is. You really, really, really dislike this person. And you wan’t to tell them. In a very violent way. It includes the lyric “You will learn to breathe through a straw.” Yeesh.
2.) Liferuiner – You Look Better When You’re Drunk
I think the intro says it all, but the lyrics that follow are about as mean as it gets. Demeaning, violent, and, at times, very scary, this song does a good job of getting this message across “I’m going to say awful things about you, but deep down, I’m just deeply hurt, you bitch.”

3.) Ben Folds Five – Song for the Dumped

Pretty self-explainatory. I’d recommend this to anyone that not only lost a girlfriend, but a lot of money as well.

4.) The Used – All That I’ve Got

This one is pretty much just sad and pathetic. Admittedly one of my favorites, this song is all about missing what you had, but acting like you don’t. Good when you feel like you can’t escape that “My life is shit” feeling.

5.) LEGEND – Suffering

I just like this one for the lyric “Inside, I never wanted to be loved by you.” Keep telling yourself that and maybe it’ll come true.

6.) Cee-Lo Green – Fuck You

This song’s got a pretty obvious sentiment, and it’s catchy as hell.

7.) Evanescense – Call Me When You’re Sober

This is one for the ladies. For when you’re awesome and your ex is a douche bag who wants what he can’t have.

“You never call me when you’re sober. You only want it ’cause its over.”

8.) For the Fallen Dreams – Two Twenty Two

Make sure you tell this idiot it’s in the past, and they won’t be getting the best of you.

9.) Emmure – You Got A Henna Tattoo That Said Forever

“Movie quotes and lyrics still connecting us like constellations. I wonder if I could ever seperate myself from this. And it’ll be awhile ’til I can breathe again.”

10.) Ugly Kid Joe – Everything About You

Oh man, just listen to it.

The Lost Boys: A New Musical officially kicked off on Broadway last month, and Deadline now reports that the show’s Broadway run has been extended into next year.

The show was originally set to run through November, but Deadline reports that The Lost Boys: A New Musical “has released a block of tickets through Sunday, March 7, 2027.”

The news comes in the wake of The Lost Boys: A New Musical becoming the most Tony-nominated musical of the season with twelve nominations including Best Musical.

Additionally, “The Lost Boys will launch a North American National Tour in Spring 2028, at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. Additional cities and tour dates will be announced later.”

The Lost Boys: A New Musical is of course an adaptation of the 1987 horror classic from director Joel Schumacher, with the cast including Ali Louis Bourzgui as lead vampire David (originally played by Kiefer Sutherland), Maria Wirries as Star (originally played by Jami Gertz), and LJ Benet as the soon-to-be-turned Michael (originally played by Jason Patric).

The horror musical’s cast also includes Shoshana Bean as Lucy Emerson, Benjamin Pajak as Sam Emerson, Paul Alexander Nolan as Max, Jennifer Duka as Alan Frog, Miguel Gil as Edgar Frog, Brian Flores as Marko, Sean Grandillo as Dwayne, and Dean Maupin as Paul.

The Lost Boys: A New Musical is Directed by Michael Arden, featuring Music and Lyrics by The Rescues, Book by David Hornsby & Chris Hoch, Story by James Jeremias & Janice Fischer, and Produced by James Carpinello, Marcus Chait & Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures.

When a mother and her two teenage sons move to Santa Carla in desperate need of a fresh start, they soon uncover the darker side of this sunny coastal community. While Lucy tries to piece her family’s life back together, Michael keeps pulling away in search of belonging.

As he finds connection with a local rock band and its charismatic leader, his younger brother Sam comes face-to-face with a terrifying reality: When night falls, Michael’s new friends are even more dangerous than they first appeared.

Joel Schumacher directed the original The Lost Boys vampire movie in 1987, wherein two brothers move to a new town and discover that the area is a haven for vampires.
