Horror In Your House Sees a Dark Sky

Published

on

After a few weeks loaded with goodies, this Tuesday retailers won’t be seeing much horror as Dark Sky Films seems to be the only company with a major release. Arriving tomorrow as part of this week’s Horror In Your House are Dark Sky Films’ release of the classic MADHOUSE and PSYCHIC KILLER. Beyond the break you’ll find the full list.

By: Tex Massacre

CONJURER: Monarch

Art photographer Shawn Burnett reluctantly agrees to move to a rural farmhouse to help his wife, Helen, recover from the loss of their stillborn baby. Shawn begins experiencing unsettling events surrounding an old cabin on the property. At first skeptical of a local legend regarding the cabin’s history, he soon becomes convinced that the farm is haunted. As a ghostly presence manifests itself in increasingly deadly ways, Shawn encounters disturbing echoes from his troubled past.

DIRTY COP, NO DONUT: SRS Cinema

Things get out of control when patrolman Gus Kimble decides to mug it up for the camera, showing off his dark side. Using his badge as a ticket for debauchery, no one is safe from Officer Friendly’s wrath, including hookers, drug dealers, sex offenders, partying teens, drunk drivers, pawn shop owners, stewbums, and abusive husbands. You’ll cheer as this underdog cop takes the law into his own hands and slugs out his own brand of justice to each and every perp that crosses his path.

GIRLS IN CHAINS: Exploitation Digital/Media Blasters

In a remote country house, a malevolent form of sleaze and terror is being bred. A crazy mother encourages her two sons raving lunatic Frank and his not-all-there brother Johnny to kidnap young women and chain them up in the basement. The girls are treated like animals and then subjected to games that grow increasingly sinister and depraved. When the brothers tire of their playthings, the girls must be replaced. This lost exploitation classic is every bit as morally corrupt as you’ve heard.

HALF BROKEN THINGS: BFS

Jean is a professional house-sitter who has been assigned one last job before her retirement: the large and palatial Walden Manor. Quiet and peaceful, Jean minds the house alone. Then, one day, visitors come to the door: a pregnant young girl named Steph who is fleeing from her abusive boyfriend and Michael, the friendly stranger helping her run away – but in their attempt to escape a brutal past, they spiral deeper into a violent present and set off a trail of blood that leads directly to the front door of Walden Manor.

HAUNTED DRUM: Tai Seng

After being betrayed and defeated, a famous musician and teacher hands down his secrets to a disciple, including a magical drum which can grant either success or death to people. Can this disciple wield its power safely?

KEMPER: THE CO-ED KILLER: Lionsgate

No one expects their closest friend could be capable of murder, especially not Detective Tom Harris. Harris has been assigned to lead the search for the infamous “co-ed killer.” During his investigation, his friend Ed Kemper, an ordinary man leading an ordinary life, reveals himself as the culprit. Feeling totally betrayed, Harris is now trapped in a cat and mouse game, hoping to stop the horrific killings and bring Kemper to justice.

MADHOUSE: Dark Sky

Beautiful do-gooder Julia and her insane, hideously deformed twin sister Mary have a hard time occupying the same room, let alone the same town, without Mary either brandishing a butcher knife or letting her giant killer dog come out to play. Their uncle, Father James, presses for reconciliation but to no avail. With their mutual birthday fast approaching, Mary escapes from the local asylum. Soon thereafter, the bodies of Julia s friends and students mount around her. But is Mary actually the killer?

PSYCHIC KILLER: Dark Sky

Jim Hutton stars in his final feature film as Arnold Masters, a gentle recluse wrongfully convicted of murder and confined to a snake pit mental institution. When his elderly mother dies from neglect during his incarceration, Arnold devotes his hard time to mastering the voodoo art of astral projection… and remote control revenge. Death by concrete slab… by scalding shower… by meat slicer! No court could convict him because he was never there!

TWO FRONT TEETH: TLA

It’s the night before Christmas, and Gabe Snow, a tabloid writer haunted by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, is investigating a Yuletide conspiracy. Gabe knows the terrible truth behind the crash of the ill-fated Flight 1225. He alone knows and that the plane was brought down one foggy Christmas Eve by a flying creature with a “glowing nose”. The blood-sucking vampire, Santa Claus, knows that Gabe knows, and has put him on his hit list. The demonic fury of the North Pole has been unleashed and an army of zombie elves, who have no interest in toys, pointy hats or dentistry, are about to turn Gabe’s white Christmas blood red.

URBAN LEGENDS: Eclectic/Music Video Dist.

In this video you will see gruesome, violent, bloody and deadly scenes of what some human beings can do to one another. If you have a weak stomach then this will not appeal to you. You will see reenactments of seven stories based on facts that were documented by the F.B.I. These stories include THE GRAVEYARD, CRACKWHORES, BUCKY BOB AND THE PHONE SLUT, DON’T GO IN THE BASEMENT, THE BROKEN NEEDLE IN THE ARM, HE CRACK HEAD DENTIST, and THE VAMPIRE EYE SURGEON. Be prepared for the worst!

VISITS: HUNGRY GHOST ANTHOLOGY: Bone House Asia/Tidepoint

Four young directors from Malaysia s new wave of cinema pool their talents for this anthology of wicked horror tales set during the Chinese Hungry Ghosts Festival in cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur.

ZEIRAM DUOLOGY: Tokyo Shock/Media Blasters

Two hapless electricians go out for an ordinary job but soon find themselves in a virtual reality war zone. Iria, a cute, tough-as-nails bounty hunter is battling Zeiram, a seemingly indestructible alien genetically engineered to kill. The electricians do their best to help Iria take on Zeiram in this epic adventure, only to be caught in another struggle years later when an android trainee of Iria’s has a Zeiram unit implanted inside it. Trapped in the monster’s dimensional zone, the only way out is if Iria is able to beat the monster one on one.
