Twilight villain Cam Gigandet (pictured inside) has been cast opposite Leighton Meester in Screen Gems’ The Roommate, a psychological thriller that centers on a deranged college freshman who becomes obsessed with her new roommate. Gigandet will play the boyfriend of Meester’s character. Christian E. Christiansen is helming from a Sonny Mallhi screenplay. Roy Lee and Doug Davison will produce “Roommate” through their Vertigo Entertainment banner. Screen Gems is eyeing a May start date. Gigandet’s credits also include The Unborn and Never Back Down.
