New ‘Wrong Turn 3’ Image, Star Janet Montgomery Talks to B-D!
While yesterday we brought you the first ever images from Fox Home Entertainment’s forthcoming Wrong Turn 3, we also had the chance to speak with director Declan O’Brien about the latest cannibal opus. This morning, we chatted with star Janet Montgomery, who plays Fonda in the film, a girl stuck between a group of prisoners and a slew of gross backwoods cannibals. Read on for a brand new image from the film and a bit from Montgomery about her role.
“I finished WRONG TURN 3 around September (2008). [My character Fonda] is very different from the The HILLS RUN RED character,” she explains, “she’s very feisty and she’s a fun character to play – a tougher female role.”
The film features an interesting turn as it pits a group of prisoners against the cannibals. Montgomery explains how she ends up in the mix.
“I’m whitewater rafting with my friends and they get killed by Three Finger (Borislav Iliev),” she continues, “but I manage to…run into the forest and I escape, but then I come into contact with the prisoners, which some might say is a good thing.” She continues, “But we find out it might not be the best thing at the same time – I’m a bit f*cked either way,” she jokes.
Director Declan O’Brien told us yesterday that there were a lot of action sequences in this sequel, which is how Janet gets all banged and bruised.
“It was so much fun to do, we did so much action stuff!,” she exclaims with pure excitement. “I like to do as much of my own stunts as I can, as much as the director will let me. I have the same stunt girl as I had on HILLS RUNS RED, `cause she’s fantastic, so they used the same girl. I can talk to her about what I can do and she can teach me how to do it so I could do it myself. They were great fun to do.” She tells us about one scene where she takes on star Tamer Hassen, “There’s one with me and Tamer Hassen (Chavez), he’s a big Turkish guy. I jump on his back and we have this fight scene. It was intense filming. I had bruises all over me afterwards, but it was so worth it because we got some great footage.”
As for the level of blood in the film, she couldn’t reveal any of the gags but leaves us with this, “Yeah, I got some nasty cuts…it’s pretty gory, to be honest!”
WRONG TURN 3 arrives on DVD and Blu-ray this Fall.

‘Backrooms’ Heads Home to Digital Next Week
Are you ready to go back?
After a record-breaking box office run and an extended cut re-release, A24 and director Kane Parsons’ Backrooms is heading home to Digital.
Backrooms will be available to rent or buy this Tuesday, July 14.
In the film, Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in Backrooms as the owner of Cap’n Clark’s Ottoman Empire, who discovers a strange doorway in the basement of the furniture showroom. He sets out to explore the mysterious, liminal space, walking headfirst into a creepypasta nightmare.
Renate Reinsve (A Different Man) also stars in Backrooms.
Will Soodik wrote the screenplay.
I wrote in my review, “Backrooms is at once complex and sparse, but never repetitive. It might be set in 1990, but it effectively captures modern anxieties and isolation in a way that frequently makes your skin crawl. While the journey ultimately loses steam by its cryptic end, Parsons’ visual representation of the human psyche disturbs like no other.”
YouTube prodigy Kane Parsons makes his feature directorial debut based on his creepypasta-inspired video series, which debuted in 2022 and has amassed over 190 million views to date.
